Apprentice Dental Nurse

We are looking to recruit an apprentice Dental Nurse at the practice, this is a great career opportunity  for someone who is looking to earn an income as well as a qualification.

The apprenticeship is run through City Training in Bradford the entry level requirements are English and Maths GCSE grade A-C plus two other GCSE's. We would expect the successful applicant to be computer literate and be confident in emailing and the use of EXCEL and Microsoft Word.

You will attend City training around 1 day per week

The apprenticeship normally involves the following modules

• First Aid Essentials
• Prepare and Maintain Environment
• Instruments and Equipment for Clinical Dental Procedures
• Offer Information and Support to Individuals on the Protection of Their Oral Health
• Provide Chair Side Support During the Assessment of Patients’ Oral Health
• Assessment of Oral Health and Treatment Planning
• Contribute to the Production of Dental Images.

Whilst working in the practice dental nurses  assist the dentist or therapist whilst treating patients or work in the decontamination unit. They carry out excellent cross infection control and must be aware of patient confidentiality. Working well in a team is a must for any dental nurse along with enthusiasm, motivation and attention to detail.

All dental nurses require a DBS check, Hepatitis B vaccinations and BCG vaccinations all which can be arranged for the successful applicant.

The hours are 37.5 - 40 hours per week.

The hourly rate is £3.50 - £5.00 per hour
