Braces and Bonding – Dentist Huddersfield

Many patients are opting to have braces on their teeth to straighten them,  alongside a treatment called composite bonding which is carried out once the brace has been removed.

Braces will align your teeth, but they cannot change their natural shape.  That is why we use the composite bonding technique just to perfect the smile a little more.

Bonding treatment means we do not have to remove any of your natural tooth as you do with treatments such as crowns and veneers, we just bond the composite (white filling) material to your tooth.

The treatment is as follows:

The dentist will add a solution to the surface of your tooth as it needs to be roughened, after a short time this is removed with water and the surface of the tooth dried.

A bonding agent is then added to your tooth and set with a light.

The composite material is then added to your tooth and shaped and set with the light.

Time is then spent shaping the tooth to look natural and giving your smile that extra bit of perfection.
