How long will I have to wear a brace?

Traditional fixed braces are usually square in shape and typically move the crown of the tooth in the first year and the root of the tooth towards its final position in the second year, this makes the treatment time around two years in total. Fastbraces allows for the movement of the roots of the teeth towards their final position from the start of treatment, allowing the treatment time to be reduced to around 3 – 12 months. For some lucky patients whose bone responds very well to treatment the treatment time can be weeks.

Are Fastbraces suitable for children?

Fastbraces are also suitable for children. For many children being on a waiting list for brace treatment can mean that by the time they require the brace it is at a time in their lives when they may not feel too happy or confident about wearing one. We can see patients on a self referral basis and we do not have a waiting list, as Fastbraces works quicker than the more conventional braces therefore reducing the period of time it has to be worn.

Will I need extractions?

Fastbraces almost never requires extraction of teeth as part of the tooth straightening process, this mean you may not have to loose health teeth to have the perfect smile.
