Lots of fun in ONESIES raising money for FORGET ME NOT CHILDRENS HOSPICE

June 26, 2014

National Smile Month runs from 19th May – 19th June, the aim of the campaign is to make a positive difference to the oral health of millions of people throughout the UK.

Meltham Dental Care decided to use this month as an opportunity to raise money for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

Throughout the month the practice ran a daily raffle selling tickets to their patients.

Prizes for the raffle were donated by many local businesses and suppliers including Huddersfield Giants, kitten Heels Boutique Changes Beauty Salon and Hair at Bridge House.

Joanne Holroyd practice manager said “local businesses and patients have been very generous with their support as we have raised our target of £500 the least we could do was look a little silly in our onesies for this fantastic charity”.

On Wednesdays to join in with the charities fundraiser of “onesie Wednesdays” the staff all wore onesies to work during the month and gained sponsorship for this, sales of raffle tickets doubled on these days.

Jason Costello Head of Community Fundraising said “it’s been great to see Joanne and the team get behind our Onesie Wednesday campaign, it’s really put a lot of smiles on the faces of their patients. They really have gone the extra Smile to support the children’s hospice”
